It is preferable if you have an outgoing, friendly personality. We ask that our teachers act and dress in a professional manner for teaching our great students. You may draw on our knowledge of teaching for your lesson plans or you may develop your own curriculum for our students. We will ask you what curriculum you intend to use so that we are familiar with how our students are being taught. We require that our students learn the basics, that is reading music, correct posture and correct playing technique. We strongly encourage our teachers to include familiar tunes in the student's program of study so that the student will not lose interest. We believe in positive reinforcement in our music lessons. If the student makes an error, we cite his/her good points before we tactfully call their attention to the mistake and proceed to show them how it may be corrected.
